This summer, Charleston Adventure Forest in Awendaw is offering hands-on, Revolutionary-era blacksmithing classes to celebrate America's 250th birthday. You can forge your own tomahawk every Friday and Saturday, or hand-dip candles and forge a matching candle holder on the first and third Sunday of each month, all running through September. What to Wear for Ziplining

Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows easy movement and works well with a harness especially if you're ziplining in Awendaw, South Carolina. The best outfit for ziplining is a moisture-wicking t-shirt or long-sleeve top, paired with athletic shorts, leggings, or lightweight pants, and closed-toe shoes like sneakers or hiking shoes. Avoid loose clothing, flip-flops, skirts, dresses, and anything that could get caught in equipment. Keep accessories minimal, and tie back long hair for safety and comfort.

Yes, you can zipline in the rain at many zipline parks, but it depends on the severity of the weather and the operator's safety policies. Light rain usually doesn't stop tours because modern zipline equipment is designed to handle wet conditions. In fact, some adventurers enjoy the added excitement of soaring through misty forests and rain-soaked landscapes.

can a women enjoy zip line while pregnant

One of the most common questions we receive from expecting mothers and family members planning a visit is whether ziplining is safe during pregnancy. The answer is simple. No. For the safety of both mother and baby, pregnant guests cannot participate in ziplining activities at Charleston Adventure Forest. While ziplining is extremely safe for most guests, pregnancy introduces unique medical considerations that make aerial adventure activities inappropriate regardless of how far along the pregnancy may be.

mom's choice award

Every weekend, moms in the Lowcountry face the same question. What are we doing this weekend that is actually worth it? Not just something to fill time. Something the kids will remember. Something safe enough to feel good about and exciting enough that nobody complains on the drive home. Charleston Adventure Forest has been named a Mom's Choice Award 2026 honoree. This makes it one of the few outdoor adventure destinations in South Carolina to earn this recognition. As of 2026, Charleston families have an award-winning outdoor activity spot just 25 minutes from downtown Charleston.

"This was such a fun adventure. My 12 year old was initially scared, but our guides were fabulous and made her feel at ease. She was flying the trees confidently in no time. My younger two did the koala course at the same time and loved it as well. Since the canopy course over looks much of the koala course, we could watch them zip and even talk to them some. It was great! "
