Outdoor Event Space in Charleston, SC

The Adventure Center is a converted house with wide wraparound porches, accessible bathrooms, and open picnic areas surrounded by Lowcountry pine forest in Awendaw, about 25 minutes from downtown Charleston. The property is set back from the road, giving your group an outdoor setting away from downtown traffic and noise.

The space can work for smaller gatherings as well as larger group celebrations, depending on the event setup. The wraparound porches also give guests a place to sit and relax while others take part in the activities. If you're looking for outdoor event space for rent near Charleston, you can use the property for a gathering with activities built into the day rather than simply renting a room.

There is no in-house catering. Charleston Adventure Forest works with trusted third-party caterers, and guests are also welcome to bring their own caterer. Outside vendors, planners, photographers, and rental companies can also be part of your event setup.

Climb 65 feet up the tower, then zip off the top of it.The climbing tower and zipline canopy tour are built into the same structure, giving your event an activity option that you won't find at a traditional event hall.You can add activities to your event based on what fits your group, from a full zipline experience to a shorter animal encounter or a hands-on blacksmithing class.

Zipline Canopy Tour

Take your group through the Lowcountry forest on seven zip lines and three swinging bridges, ending with a 750-foot grand finale. The Zipline Canopy Tour can be a good fit for groups looking to add an outdoor adventure to a celebration or corporate event.

65-Foot Climbing Wall

Want to see who can make it to the top? The 65-foot climbing wall gives everyone a chance to try. The wall has three climbing lanes. The hold spacing varies between lanes, with closer spacing making the climb easier and wider spacing creating more of a challenge. The vertical face makes the tower approachable for people who are new to climbing.

An auto-belay system backs up each climber, and staff watch everyone during the climb. Your group can focus on the challenge and cheer each other on.

Blacksmithing at The Forge

For a hands-on activity, your group can try blacksmithing at The Forge. Classes are taught by an instructor trained at the American College of the Building Arts. Guests work at the forge, heat and hammer steel, and make a finished piece to take home.

Depending on the class, guests can make items such as oyster shuckers, hooks, and decorative pieces. Blacksmithing is a good option for groups looking for something different from the usual party activities.

Animal Encounters

Animal Encounters provide a shorter activity that works for a wide range of ages. During the 30-minute experience, guests can feed, pet, and learn about animals that may include ponies, goats, pigs, alpacas, sheep, and reptiles.
